 Midfielders Jimmy Bullard and Alexei Smertin have recovered from injury but have only made enough progress to begin training and will not play any part in this weekend's match. Moritz Volz has also begun light training for Fulham.
Brian McBride (knee), Ian Pearce (calf), Phillipe Christanval (knee), Kasey Keller (bicep), Lee Cook (knee) are also on Fulham's long injury list.
Stephen Carr (hamstring) and Peter Ramage (knee) are still out for Newcastle. However, Claudio Cacapa (hamstring) might be fit enough to feature.
Even though Damien Duff (foot), Michael Owen (knee) and Abdoulaye Faye (calf) have made good progress it is still too early for any of them to take part in this weekend's action.
If the game goes Newcastle’s way they could find themselves in the top half of the table.
