 After a bumpy few games, Everton will look to take advantage of Wednesday’s poor start to the season with a win against the Championship’s bottom club. Moyes is still searching for a decent string of results and wants to kick-start his season in Sheffield.
With their first league victory of the season just behind them, Sheffield Wednesday will hope to build their season by progressing past goal-shy Everton.
But they have doubts over Glenn Whelan (thigh), Steve Watson (hip) and Etienne Esajes (back). New signings Michael Johnson and Graham Kavanagh are available, although Johnson may be rested. But Peter Gilbert, Lee Bullen and defender Tommy Spurr may play a role in the game.
David Moyes is likely to be without defender Joseph Yobo who missed training and Mikel Arteta is also doubtful with a bad ankle. But Alan Stubbs is tipped to be back in central defence while Stefan Wessels will continue in goal with Tim Howard still injured.
