Billy Davies’ Derby County took a huge chunk out of their points target for this season, as they drew 2-2 with Pompey.
Speaking exclusively to EatNonsense’s Frederic Manamana earlier this week, Davies told us “Me and the lads sat down and between us we came up with 2 points as a fairly achievable target this season, we highlighted home games against Wigan and Birmingham as possible draws”.
Following the open day draw with Portsmouth, the rams boss was full of optimism “It’s a great result, no doubt about that, we had this one predicted as a 2-0 defeat!” and when our man Manamana joked about their chances of staying up Davies replied “If we stay up… well.. I’ll eat my hat, in fact, if we stay up I’ll resign!”
Derby County are odds on favourites for a return to the championship at a generous 1/2 Davies commented “That’s not bad odds at all, is it? I tell you what Mr Manamana, that’s better odds than I got”.
Billy Davies is currently being questioned by the FA and the Police for match fixing and illegal betting.
